Fishing Boat at Water's Edge
Fishing boat coming ashore at The Stade, Old Town Hastings. Hastings is one of the few fleets that are beach launched in England. This image is shown with the fishermen's faces and trawler's identification obscured or removed but I will can make an editorial version available if required.
There are normally a lot more pebbles and shingle on this part of the beach but much was washed away during the severe storms at the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014.
The boats are sailed into the harbour in the protection of the Harbour Arm and then driven onto the beach where they will have hooks on long wires affixed to them and be dragged up the beach by winches.
The gulls that followed the boat ashore are now waiting patiently on the beach for the fishermen to sort out their catch and toss them the scraps.
